All my friends agree, he was out of his wife's league!

Kevin Costner was sort of the matthew mcconaughey of his day. Your mid-western style of good looks. He was a "star". His wife in this? Amy Madigan? Forever known as "Buck's girl" as in John Candy's movie "Uncle Buck."

I have no problem with her being five years his senior, as Kevin (who was 33 when shot) could pass as late 30s.

I do have a problem believing that he would have chosen her out of a plethora of sexy chics who's head he would have turned.

Yep, she's a plain Jane ginger...however, if they would have cast some smoking hot actress of the day (say Michelle Pfeiffer, Sharon Stone, etc..), would you then really have believed that Kevin Costner and her would have moved to Iowa and bought a farm?

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

No, Kevin Costner was never like Matthew McConaughey.

You just say this and that her wife wasn't his league because you see the once big star Kevin Costner in his physical prime. Fame makes people more attractive.

She was a plain Jane but I agree with the one post that having some model looking wife would have felt fake. Kevin Costner is a good looking guy but he doesn't look like a model and you can still buy him as the average Joe/ blue collar guy.

He's no supermodel, but he was a big sex symbol of his day. She wasn't. Whatever it was he was oozing would, in my opinion, have him with a better looking wife.

But then again, some men aren't anything to look at and then hit their 30s and suddenly look distinguished. Bradley Cooper was average looking in his younger days and then suddenly became a sex symbol.

Costner, the chinless wonder, is high average at best. And his body is totally average. His voice is wimpy/annoying too.

Madigan is average-cute with average body. Annoying voice.

Good match.

And Cooper looks like a total Doofus. Good bod though.

I say this all as a straight guy though so how can I really judge?

Nope. Chinless wonder, now washed-up curiosity. The majority of humanity prefers bland superlatives because they are safer.
