Still my favorite Batman film.

It was a period of great prosperity for me, and this film was just like a cherry on the top of the cake for me as a 20+years comics reader, fan, and collector in 1989. The newer (Bale) ones are alright, but this is the only one I happily still re-watch.

To me, it's this or Returns.

Or maybe Mask of the Phantasm.

After that, I might even go with Year One or The Dark Knight Returns - the cartoon movies.

If I want to watch a Batman movie, I watch something by Tim Burton, this one was and still is fun.

Nolan's films were barely watchable for me, too serious and boring and out of touch with their source material. They didn't even feel like Batman, I don't care to rewatch them.

I liked Nolan's first two - those were great - but the third one was a real disappointment and quite the mixed-bag.

And with animated fare like Mask of the Phantasm, Nolan's films aren't my top Bat-movies. Burtons, Phantasm, Nolan's.

At the time this film blew me away. I never even saw the trailer before seeing it. The first night it came out my dad said to me and my brother that we were going to the theater to watch this new Batman where has a black batsuit. Up until Batman 89 there was only the silly Adam West Batman show, which I enjoyed at the time, but this movie totally changed my perception of Batman. It's too bad there was only one good sequel, then not another decent Batman movie until 2005

Also mine. Tim Burton nailed the atmosphere of Gotham. It's a superbly done Batman film.

The design and atmosphere of the film is incredible.

Jack Nicholson was the perfect Joker for the eighties.

Hard to argue with that, it a pretty damn good movie.
