Name One Way You'd Change This Film

I'm Back!!!

reply

I never liked Batman's villains dying after just one movie outing, so it would be the Joker surviving and taken into custody.

reply

It needed an Adam West cameo. I also would have rather seen a more traditional looking Commissioner Gordon. Pat Hingle was too heavy.

A different bat-suit as well. One where he could turn his neck.

reply

AGreed. I was just thinking the same.I MUCH preferred, with all due respect to otherwise thinking Bat-fans, the 1966 campier one......the BEST

reply

My favorite Batman of all is ultimately the character as he appeared in the comics from 1939-2011 or so. even with various changes they made over the decades, he was still the same character. But as far as adaptations go, the Adam West Batman will always be the most fun.

reply

My favorite Batman is Nolan’s trilogy, but I also enjoyed the tv series. It was a fun show.

reply

Adam West would've turned down a cameo had it been offered to him. I don't know if he was legitimately upset that he wasn't asked to play Batman again or he disapproved of the decidedly darker and more serious take on Batman. But he did admit that he had mixed feelings about the movie.

reply

You're right about that. I think I remember now seeing him on a talk show around that time and he said he wanted nothing to do with it because of how dark it was. Or something along those lines. He sure wasn't happy.

reply

I thought Tim Burton offered the role of Thomas Wayne to him and he turned it down.

reply

Having both Joker and Two Face.

reply

I would NOT have killed off the Joker.

reply

A better bat-suit

reply

I'm sure Michael Keaton would agree with you. Apparently it was very uncomfortable.

reply

It's actually my all-time favourite Bat-suit, but each to their own I guess.

reply

It thought it looked ok.

reply

Thanks for the brilliant responses so far.

Don't forget to comment on my 'Name One Way You'd Change This Film' threads for Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin.

Get rid of the Prince music. It fit like a square peg in a round hole.

reply

The Prince music really dated this movie, it felt so cheap and out of place compared to the amazing orchestral score.

The effects could also do with a revision, like they did with Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I really love model work, but a lot of the model work on this stuff looks very low-budget.

reply

Good point. (Sorry Prince.)

reply

Shaun and Ed from Shaun of the Dead would agree with you there! ;)

reply

I gotta disagree with you there. The Prince music (as I recall) was used along with the Joker, and the craziness (and purpleness) kinda work...

reply

I'd have the Joker getting rid of the police somehow before the parade. It's never made any sense why the police don't act after Joker told them exactly where he'd be and when.
