what do you think is the best Rambo film?

what do you think is the best Rambo film?

FOR ONLY ONE REASON. WHAT THE COLONEL SAID TO THE RUSSIAN ARMY OFFICIAL. NOW THEY ARE DOING THE SAME IN AFGHANISTAN WHAT RUSSIA WAS DOING TWO DACADES AGO. LOL.

reply

Yes, but for a totally different reason if you know your facts and history. The enemy is not Afghans in general, but a certain faction of them, and not Mujahideens either, probably only 10% of them. Sorry, but to me ways of looking at such political conlifts are very skewed and wrong. It sounds almost like claiming that all Germans today are still the enemy to the US. History changes, as well as people and the whole generations, deal with it... or im going to have a heart attack from some of you one day. lol. This movie only tries to portray (in a mythical kind of way) the reality of the year 1988. End of story.

First Blood. Everything else was basically a violent, over-the-top cartoon. Though Rambo (the 2008 film) was a nice return to form in many ways, and is WAY better than 2 and 3.

Rambo
First Blood
Rambo:First Blood Part 2
Rambo 3

In terms of pure action, III was the best in the series and perhaps ever, then II, I, IV (Rambo was much more realistic though).

As the plot is concerned, I, IV, II, III.

As far as the soundtrack is concerned: II, IV, I, III.

It's really hard because to me there was no weak Rambo movie. They are all must sees, but I think I have to pick "First Blood" because that movie had a much deeper meaning as opposed to the later movies which plot Rambo, the Protagonist fighting against evil people who mistreat prisoners, and kill innocent people and whatnot.

Rambo(2008)-First one I saw most realistic, gritty and action filled. Plus the real Burmese resistence was inspired by it.
Rambo II-Extra points cause I liked the Asian woman with him.
Rambo III-Had the most action aside from IV but seemed the least realistic to me. The hot Asian woman in II puts it above III IMO!
Rambo:First Blood-Good and probably the most depthful aside from 4 but lacks the excitement of the other 3.
Hmmm, how can II and III still be FIRST blood!

Every Rambo deserves a 10, really. They all manage to be very different films from each other actually. First Blood is the best movie, First Blood Part II is clearly the best, Rambo III is also number 1, but somehow this recent Rambo film ends up being the best one.

See what I mean? Due to Stallone's outstanding dedication and suffering for his art, each Rambo is the best, just in their own ways.

RAMBO III. 11/10 (arguably the only masterpiece of this series and also the only one that has at least some artistic depth, subtlety and spiritual overtones that carry the whole film, and mostly work underneath the surface)
RAMBO: first Blood part II. 10/10 (the most groundbreaking and revolutionary film of course)
FIRST BLOOD 6/10 (sleeper hit, but pretty much your standard superficial action film that surely doesnt challange the viewer as much as the third film)

JOHN RAMBO 4/10 (a so-so good film that certainly doesnt deserve to be compared to the previous films in the trilogy for its inferior dtv-ish quality and nearly amateurish direction. No wonder it was the least profitable and resonant of all Rambo movies)

Rambo III is far better then the *beep* Rambo II!

And First Blood is the best!

I don't consider First Blood a Rambo film. I just consider it First Blood. I consider First Blood 2 and Rambo 3 to be Rambo movies.

First Blood: action drama about a soldier returning from war and people treating him badly

Rambo: Testosterone-filled awesomefests.

I like First Blood better than the rambos, but I think I liked 3 better than 2. But maybe it's because I watched 2 on the internet, and also I didnt really know what to expect, and I watched 3 knowing what to expect (having seen the second one) and it was on blu ray.

I'll watch Rambo 2 again and tell you what I think again.

Haven't seen Rambo (4) yet but I want to.
