~I see a little silhouette of a man, Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango.
But...but... the 1988 dub has the voice of Leonardo as Kaneda.
shareI just watched the anniversary edition dub.
Yeah it's real bad. I recall when I saw this movie previously I thought it was much better. The dub made it very meh.
General question:
Why on earth do Americans(or non-Americans) need dubbing anyway? I always watch foreign films in their native language, it makes them much more authentic. If people can't be bothered to read a few lines, why do they even bother, watching foreign films? It's been proven that knowing at least 2 languages helps to prevent Alzheimer disease, so everyone should do this a lot more...
Some anime dubs are decent. The 88 Akira dub bothered me until I heard the 2001 dub. The newer dub is terrible bu comparison.
Akira: subtitled > 88 dub >>>>>>> 2001 dub
Ninja Scroll is a great example of good dubbing.
About to be 2020 and people argue back and forth between dub and sub.
Nothing wrong with Subs. Nothing wrong with Dubs either honestly around 2005 or 2006 Anime in America was taken seriously and dubs drastically improved
I'm anti-dub in general but especially in the case of this movie I feel like the dubbing is really bad. It just doesn't have the same feel at all as the original voice acting.
