I think MASH is a really good program and I can understand why it is on reruns everyday. I thought China Beach was just as good if not more gripping(I call it MASH without the humor), but it is never on reruns. Why the hell is that? Alot of people who are not baby boomers have never heard of this show because it is never aired. Why is that?
shareI am watching it at the moment and it is slow. It is more serious too. It is an ok show but there isn't any "hook" that makes you want to watch it over and over.

shareYou'd think with 4 seasons it would be better remembered and shown more but I guess without the comedy element it wasn't as appealing to a larger audience and as memorable as MASH was. Also, I don't think there is much of an audience for war-time drama shows like there is for, say, police / detective shows, so the comedy in MASH sure opens up the audience for it.
