The phrase is 'hear, hear', as in 'listen to what the other person said'. I agree, by the way!

Saw this when i was a teenager and it was so good. Watched it again last night and it's still very good.

reply

I totally agree. It's a great film from start to finish.

The Ferrari chase at the start is great fun.

reply

I loved the way they used LA as a backdrop without it being too "Hollywood"

This is one of the best sci-fi movies of all time.

reply

Full-action-packed, this is a great sci-fi/action movie... I still remember when I saw it for the first time, and it's still great! Won the Fantastic Film Avoriaz Prize in 1987 if I remember well.

reply

I totally agree that this is a damn good action packed movie!
For some reason I had forgotten all about. It was very different from all the other sci fi movies at the time.

reply

Haven't seen it in a while. But reading the post, I think it's time to take the DVD of the shelf again! THIS MOVIE IS TOTALLY FUN.

What's not to like? Alien likes Sports Cars & Rock music.....:-))

Think I'll watch it again myself!

reply

Very true....This movie was actually very good. Another that was underrated was
Peacemaker (made in 1990 I believe.) Very cool Alien movie, and it actually keeps you guessing. Anyone remember!?!? Two aliens battle it out, a woman doctor is cuahgt in the middle. Which alien is bad? Very cool movie.

would like to add my voice to the chorus - this film is an EXCELLENT example of low budget B-movie sci-fi/action.

I've seen it a dozen times. It's pure entertainment, before CGI came in and made eveything cartoony.

Great car chase.

Jack Sholder should've had a better career.

reply

Is it just me or did anyone else notice the VERY strong similarities between this film and "Men in Black"?

Did the writer of "The Hidden" get any $ from the "Men in Black" remake?

reply

I HOPE you're kidding.. The Hidden was released in 1987. Men in Black wasn't released until the late 90's.. If anyone's remaking anything, Men in Black is a remake of The Hidden.

I agree with everyone else. This is a great movie that so many people haven't seen. I got it from Amazon.com recently (I'm a big Kyle MacLachlan fan) and I loved it. Excellent movie.

Don't worry ruthierocks. That's what he's saying. Think you read it backwards.

reply

Actually if I remember correctly The Hidden was sued for plagiarism. It borrows its basic idea from a novel called Needle by Hal Clement.

reply

heaintheavy,

Now Jack is teaching film to up and coming film students like me at Western Carolina University in North Carolina.

reply

Good movie, but not as good as John Carpenter's The Thing, which runs along the same lines.

reply

Well before Men In Black sorta ripped off this great sc-fi flick's concept, 1993's Jason Goes To Hell The Final Friday did it as well.
Jason goes body hopping is what it should have been called.

reply

Yes, this movie is the best B movie I have ever seen. It's just straight fun.

reply

This movie is just amazing. I personally think it ranks among the 5 best 80's action/sci-fi films.

reply

Agreed. Like another poster said, I strangely forget about this film, too, yet it is not a "forgettable" film. And as yet another poster said, they'd put it in the top 5 sci-fi action flicks of the 80s. Make that double!

reply

The only thing I forgot about this movie was the title.

I really enjoyed it when I watched years ago but couldn't remember the name of it - which irked me no end as I wanted to watch it again.

Then I saw its name on TVTropes and, thus armed, was able to track down a copy. Really enjoyed watching it again after all these years.
