Jefferson or Steve?

Personally I'd go with Jefferson. His isms with Al were just classic. I loved how we insulted Marcy behind her back, but turned into an instant coward when she was around. I loved the 'Yes Ma'am' t-shirt.
Don't get me wrong, I liked Steve, I just thought Jefferson was better. I'm glad they went in a totally fpdifferent direction when they cast him and he just wasn't another Steve

Jefferson made the show better

I liked Steve but by season 4 I think it felt like the show needed some new blood. Jefferson was perfect and his bromance with AL was even better

I think Jefferson is quite a unique sitcom character in that he often laughs at the interplay between characters.

Most of the time in sitcoms, characters will be putting each other down without any of them laughing or seeing the funny side of it. It's almost like some kind of unwritten rule that sitcom characters can't laugh at the funny stuff that's going on. But Jefferson did laugh at it. A lot.

Which might make him more identifiable to the viewer.

It's refreshing to see a sitcom character laugh along at all the crazy *beep* that's going on.

jefferson was good, and bumbling funny. But Steve had that sharp sarcastic wit. he would bang on Al and Pegger and sometimes they wouldn't know they had been insulted.

I like Steve better, he was also a lot smarter than Jefferson. 

Jefferson. Steve and marcy were the contrast to peg and al. Newly weds. wealthy. The problem is they often killed the momentum because they got along to well.

Also the jokes about jeffersons past as a spy/secret agent... whatever. The love boat and happy days jokes.

Probably Jefferson but Steve does have the best line - Al, I'm horny; what are you going to do about it?!

reply

Jefferson.

He had better dynamics with both Marcy and especially Al.

Jefferson was a better physical comedian and could throw curve balls the audience didn't expect which made the show better.

Like the time when Bud was trying to study and he was upset with everyone and reached into his pocket and Jefferson screams "He's got a Gun!!!" Then after bud gave everyone money to get lost, he walks to Bud really slowly and ask like a little kid.. "Can I have some money to go to the nudie bar with Al??

Both were great! Different but great!

Steve! However, there were some hilarious Jefferson moments but always gonna like the early years of Steve Rhoades.
