each Amigo's best moment

CHEVY CHASE'S BEST MOMENT:

when the Amigos "frighten" away El Guapo's three men and the people of Santa Poco throw a huge fiesta for them. He is surrounded by the ladies strummin' on his guitar, then
"De-hehhhhhhh, eh-ehhee-ehehehe!!!"
the first time I heard that I freaking died!!!

MARTIN SHORT'S BEST MOMENT:

He's got the lowest voice out of the three when they sing "Blue Shadows" and the other guys are like "whahhhh?"

rotf!!!
and also when they find out "it's real" he cries: "What am I doing in MEXICO?"

STEVE MARTIN'S BEST MOMENT:

Lucky: I'll fill you so full of lead you'll be using your d*ck as a pencil!
El Guapo: What do you mean?
Lucky: ...I don't know.

MAN THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES. THESE GUYS ARE HYSTERICAL!

I love the part when all three are riding in the desert and take a moment to drink some water from their cantenes.

Steve Martins cantene has nothing but a few drops.

Martin Shorts cantene is filled with sand as it falls right into his mouth.

Chevy Chases cantene is filled to the brim as he starts chugging. He chugs so hard that it splashes off his face. The looks on the faces of Short and Martin are priceless. Then when Chase is done with his chugging, he throws the cantene down on the ground with plenty of water still in it. You see it pour out onto the dry desert ground. They look back up at Chase and he proceeds to apply chap-stick to his lips.

Chase finishes his application of lip moistening and says to his pals, "Lip Balm?"

reply

El Guapo; "Are gringos falling from the sky?"

Chevy Chase falls face first.

Jeffe; "Yes, el Guapo."

At the beginning of the movie when it is introducing the Amigos in the silent movie, and Lucky is smiling as he ropes up the bad guys then turns toward the camera breaking the 4th wall in the most ridiculous serious face is priceless.

reply

"we're not Mexicans, we're from out of town"

"the lips will be fine" (second only to "lip balm?")

"Didn't you notice its little balls?"

Chase's magic chant to summon the invisible swordsman. GOLD. Starts out loud a 'la drill sargeant, then it trails non chalantly and incoherently off. He did stuff like that a lot.LOVED IT

Chevy Chase

As they tell Dusty to go over to the piano, Dusty starts saying "no, I can't. I haven't played in so long" as he's reaching for his glass and starting to walk toward the piano. lol

Steve Martin

"Gonna make it....gonna make it...gonna make it...gonna make it...
gonnamakeitgonnamakeitgonnamakeitgonnamakeit
Ow" lol

Martin Short

When they were on the German's plane, and Ned is wrecklessly flying it and he's screaming way louder than Dusty and Lucky are as they hang on the wings! lol

When they realize they're face to face with real banditos, and are trying to hide their sobbing, too funny!

Dusty gorging on that canteen of water and then just tossing it on the ground to pour out for no reason lol.

When Lucky and Ned are dancing/shuffling around and Dusty is slapping his knee, clapping his hands, gesturing toward them dancing.

When they're circling El Guapo's gang on their horses, laughing. Ned tosses his gun from one hand to the other and back again, then tilts his head back in maniacal laughter.

Line in the sand scene where Dusty accidentally shoots his gun while its still in its holster somehow.

God, this movie rules.

Chase: "We pruned....the ...hedges..."

Martin: "Each of us has an El Guapo to face someday. For some, shyness may be their El Guapo..."

Short: When Jefe hands him the "man's gun" and he literally needs all his weight to hold it up and place it in his holster - perfect physical comedy.

And El Guapo rules with "It's a Sweater!!!" not to mention his fickle "Plethora" bit.

Such a great movie - great characters!
