I used to really love this movie but since Sheen went crazy and his past depravities came to light I cannot watch it with the same enjoyment. Instead of believing him as the character of a young soldier in Vietnam, I just imagine Sheen buggering that poor kid from "Lucas" and ranting about Tiger Blood.

As far as what he did, no evidence. All we have is Feldman's word on it and that's iffy at best.
No way. Modine's Private Joker was the absolute King of '80s Vietnam movie dudes.
shareHe was so outshined by "Gunny" and "Private Pyle". Of course, Ermey's performance was the greatest ever in a war film, tough to beat that.
I might be slightly bias though, I've never cared for Modine's style of acting. It's so sappy.
