Yea, all 3 Missing in Action films are of good quality and rank among the best Vietnam movies overall

In random order, these are the five Vietnam movies I consider essential:

Realistic, just the facts view - We Were Soldiers
Angsty Liberal View - Platoon
Nihilistic, psychopathic view - Full Metal Jacket
Drugged-out nightmare view - Apocalypse Now
Over-the-top Gung-Ho view - The Green Berets
Macho revenge fantasy - Rambo

Honorable mention goes to "The Boys in Company C". which plays like a saner, more realistic precursor to "Full Metal Jacket".

I never really felt that Platoon got political, although if it did it was very very subtle. Still a great film.
