This Film Is Like Some Bizarre Masterpiece

I see this movie getting dumped on a lot by fans of the series. Frankly it's my favorite of the series and it's all my friends' favorite, as well. This movie is great. It's so off the wall and ridiculous and campy that it almost transcends to become some sort of masterpiece. Stuff like Violet's bizarre dance to that truly amazing song "His Eyes" make me think that this movie was actually made by a deranged genius.

"I've flown this route before."
"When was that?"
"IT WAS ON THE WINGS OF A DEMON!"

I find the lack of Jason totally forgiveable. Cuz we just sat through 3 sequels that were all far too similar, and a (temporary) change was needed. Plus, the entertainment really is non stop with this one. And it does have the F-13 vibe, which was never really seen again after this. Part 5 is by far my favorite of all these movies.

thank you, thank you, thank you. gosh now if there were thousands like you i'd be fine. now if all the people who hate this film could just think about how great this film is i'd be fine. what do you mean by the f-13 vibe? part 7 has the standard friday the 13th film vibe as does part 8. what i mean is they look and feel like a friday the 13th film as far as being friday the 13th '80s campy atmosphere films.

This film is such a scuzzy blast. Love all the excessive gratuitous nudity and overall sleazy atmosphere.

exactly this is so much better than part 6 in terms of nudity, sex, explicitness, and raunchiness, sleaziness.

It's a definitive B-Movie. Highly over the top characters and acting. Ridiculous plot and hilarious throughout. But a terrible horror, and pretty much forgets anything that made Friday the 13th what it was (for better or for worse), a Halloween rip-off. No POV kills or stalking, no Jason, or Mrs Voorhees.

This film never seemed to take itself seriously though, and the redneck characters are a firm affirmation of that. Watch-able for all the wrong reasons.
Koalas are telepathic. Plus, they control the weather.

this film has everything a fan of this series loves at the highest level, gratuitous nudity, graphic sex, great and graphic kill scenes, creative kills, great series campy atmosphere, great tone, great and funny characters and unforgettable lines. there is nothing bad about this film.

your'e wrong about the redneck characters. they are no different than the biker gang in part 3. they are an essential part of a friday the 13th film, ala crazy ralph, and the crazy guy with the eye in part 3. they are just there for fun, to liven up the film. they don't make this film not a serious film. this series has always had over the top and funny characters. that's an essential friday the 13th element.

you're wrong this is not a b movie, it's a theater, big budget film just like all the other friday the 13th films. this film doesn't need jason or mrs voorhees, it succeeds on every friday the 13th level.

exactly this film is so strange and odd. it's truly not like any other films in this series but at the same time it keeps all the things these films need in them. it has this manic energy that no other film in this series has. and it feels so fresh and new when watching it after watching a few of the first 6 films in this series.

it has the best of everything a film in this series has to have: the best kills, the best atmosphere, the best sex scene, the best boobs, the best lines, the best and most memorable characters, the best location, the best serious campy tone. i've never understood the hate and non respect this film has always gotten among "fans" of this series. you aren't a fan of this series if you don't put this in the top 6 of this series.

exactly there is something really beautiful and essential to this series the scene of Violet dancing to his eyes. something about the way she's dancing the way the scene is lit, the atmosphere of this scene, and the song which make it one of the best scenes in this series and a perfect friday the 13th kill scene. it's so epic looking and feeling. it's an epic scene. everything is executed perfectly in terms of how you make a friday the 13th kill scene the best.
