This Film Is Like Some Bizarre Masterpiece

I see this movie getting dumped on a lot by fans of the series. Frankly it's my favorite of the series and it's all my friends' favorite, as well. This movie is great. It's so off the wall and ridiculous and campy that it almost transcends to become some sort of masterpiece. Stuff like Violet's bizarre dance to that truly amazing song "His Eyes" make me think that this movie was actually made by a deranged genius.

You are sooo right! Up to that point in the series - it had the most nudity and the most kills.

As for the most kills - people showed up just to get killed. Like why in the hell were those greasers in the movie fixing their car? the old peeper guy? the lady who exposes her breasts and yells 'it's showtime!'?? They were there to get killed - the end.

Growing up watching this - I always thought that this was like Scooby Doo on acid. It's a mystery cuz the first time you see it - you're like is it Jason? is it Tommy? Then when it's revealed 'who' - you're like wtf?????? Who???

This movie is NUTS.

Maybe all the coke the director was doing on the set influenced his vision or something.

But I do love this movie. I never understood all the hate for it. Even the people at Paramount didn't like it. I get that it doesn't have the real Jason, but at least the setting was unique for once. And Violet's dance/death scene is -awesome-!

i wouldnt call it that, but its entertaining.

It is perfect, but still, I would love to see the unedited version that would have gotten an "X" rating. If it still exists.

I know! Probably my second favorite of the series. This movie makes no excuses for itself. It never sells out for one minute haha. I love this movie.

exactly to this movie makes no excuses for itself. it doesn't care who it offends, which is why it's so great. it's friday the 13th in it's purest and best form which is uncensored, in your face, and sleazy, gritty, naughty, grimy, and nasty. these films have always been about being crass, wild, youthful in spirit, controversial, and unconventional and this film is the epitome of all of these descriptions and qualities which is why it's one of the best films in this series. and all the hallmarks and standards of this series is at it's best in this film.

except in this film all these qualities are at the most extreme this series has ever been at and more extreme than in any other film in this series so that's why it's one of the best in this series.

It's my favorite in the series, I love how ridiculous it gets. Although this movie does have its fair share of good scares/kills too. Definitely underrated.

part V is the only one in the series that does not have a single redeeming quality. everybody in the halfway house dies with the exception of the three who make it to the barn. but everything completely goes to hell for them come the end of the film! tommy goes crazy and takes on the role of jason. i doubt he was sneaking up on Pam to say hi at the end, so i assume he knifes her. reggie is alive, but his grandfather and brother are both dead. no romantic relationship results from all of this. the main character turns into a full blown psychopath. the female heroin turns out to be said psychopath's first victim. it's such a brutal and nasty movie and i can't help but watch it. i love it!
