As imposing as Arnie seemed back then.....
....these days, your average high school kid would probably tower over that 5’11” T-800. If they reboot this franchise, they should get that Mountain guy from Game of Thrones.

shareArnie was 6'2" you noob nowadays he is shorter because of old age ...Stop recasting nobody will surpass Arnie as the Terminator.
shareI was standing a. few feet away from Arnie once. The dude’s short, I towered over him
shareThere's an Arnolds Height site somewhere and from the pics, charts etc you can clearly see he was 6ft 1-2 in his prime even barefoot, idk whats happened recently it seems hes shrunk to about 5 11 or something
edit - here is the site http://www.arnoldheight.com/
It's called OLD AGE, as someone else here said.
Regardless of how tall Arnie is/was the Terminator was over 6 feet.
shareArnie got drop kicked by an "average high school kid" and he (Arnie) barely budged. Still a rock.
shareIt’s kinda sad how shrunken and saggy Arnie and Hulk Hogan have gotten. There’s a photo of Arnie from almost 20 years ago....on a beach in a brown bathing suit, looking REALLY saggy. You’d think of all people...Mr. UNIVERSE could somewhat keep it together. (Sly did). Come to think of it....the 70 year old dude at my gym does.
And I don’t even know what to say about Hulkster. He’s down to maybe 6’2 at best...and saggy! Even his (once enormous) biceps...saggy. Age is a BITCH. The odd thing about Hulk is....his height is in his torso. His legs are rather short. Don’t believe me? Look at photos of him standing next to other people...and note where his waist is compared to others.
The Rock better cash in while he can. His chest already looks a bit underdeveloped....with nipples like two raisins.
STOP LOOKING AT THE ROCK'S NIPPLES!

Just having been DESIGNATED something does not mean anything.
He did use STEROIDS, after all - his muscles are not organic and naturally generated and grown, they're done using a CHEAT CODE, so of course there will be drawbacks. I suspect Stallone (I presume you mean him by 'Sly') went a more organic, healthier route, which is why his muscles look better and less 'freaky' than 'Mister Universe''s did at his heyday.
If you look at Arnold's muscles at their biggest, maximum peak, you can realize they do not look very 'natural' or 'real', but 'freaky' and 'weirdly bloated'. I am not sure if this is the full explanation, but hey, people's bodies age.
Fair points, for sure!
But I would consider Arnold an absolute expert at bodybuilding. I would think he, much more than oldish guys at my local gym…would know how to stay at least toned (if not still muscular like Lou).
I think when he got into politics (and also started having heart issues)…he must have greatly reduced his weight training and everything started to sag.
Guys like Lou and Sly probably devote 2-3 hours DAILY to working out with trainers.
Sly still takes PEDs and Arnie doesn't anymore.
shareif Sly did, he ran a modest cocktail of steroids in his early years if that.

I am bigger than Sly here.
Later he simply took enough to give him a good semi big healthy size and leanness. for any effect increased steroids may have on the heart/ internals, he avoided most. hence why when is ee the juice monkeys at the gym they dont do intense cardio. they are soo damn big their "intense cardio" is walking. its hard on the body to carry around 300 lbs
Arnie meanwhile was a world champion beast on the at the time most advanced steroids to the max.
As he aged im sure sly took TRT. no old guy is that fit without it. its just biology
If they reboot this franchise, they should get a sweet old lady.
shareDon't take this the wrong way, but can you really imagine an old woman being able to do what's required for the role of a terminator? I get where you are coming from because nobody'd suspect an old lady of being a terminator but you'd have to have stunt women doing most of the work to the point where the stunt women would basically be in most of the shots of the movie.
shareWell, there's such a thing as making a young, athletic woman look like old and feeble woman. They can do that for movies - I know, shocking. Just watch early Jackie Chan movies, like 'The Drunken Master' - there's an actual old guy playing the old guy, but he has a young stunt double that does the athletic stuff, and it works beautifully, so I don't agree about the 'most shots in the movie', and even if so, why should it matter, as long as the idea is shown well?
It is a movie, after all.
The original concept WAS, in fact, close to that idea; The Terminator WAS supposed to be a proper 'infiltrator unit', not some 'let's wear punk clothes and sunglasses at night as an ENORMOUS Austrian weightlifter while carrying heavy guns visibly and wrecking police stations and stealing police cars'-thing, like it ended up being in the movie.
It was supposed to look like 'everyman', kinda thin (back in the day, people weren't swamp monsters from the black lagoon, like americans are now) - Lance Henriksen was supposed to play the machine before Cameron met Arnold and realized "This man IS a machine!", or something like that.
I think the original idea would've been a more interesting story and possibly made a much better movie, at least more cerebral. I wouldn't miss all the mindless action, if I could get a great movie that makes me think.
Oh, well.. maybe some day. I really don't want it to be a 'sweet, old grandma' type, though, because out of necessity, that kind of robot would have to be pretty small and have a 'feebleness program' that I would never want to think a terminator has.
Tell that to Mike Tyson.
sharehow about when he was playing Conan the barbarian or in Predator? haha , in Terminator he was 38 and still scary (of course on steroids) but absolutely great in the role.
