When I read the book I crushed over Soda, but when I watched the movie I was in love with Dally. Oh Dally, we could have run away together.

It would depend on what stage of life I was in. I read this when I was pretty young so initially I would say it was Ponyboy. As I got older it would have been Darryl. He gave up a ride to college to keep his family intact.

It changed as I got older. First Johnny, then Soda, then Darrel.
