Worst Bond film

Unoriginal story. Connery well past his prime. Bad acting all around (aside from Basinger). Weak staging (it felt like a home video with expensive furniture half the time). Bad directing. Weak soundtrack, especially compared to John Barry. Lacks the fantasy elements of EON Bond films, but is also too campy to be taken seriously.

Most UNDERRATED Bond film in the entire franchise.

Kevin McClory must be rolling in his grave right now after what they did to his Blofeld character.

I would say its Quantum of Solace by far.

reply

I agree, Quantum is terrible, but Diamonds Are Forever is unwatchable.

Never say Never Again is underrated on IMDB

reply

Those are my two least favorites.

reply

Absolutely. Barely a Bond film at all. It's utterly terrible. The only part I liked was the section with the opera in it. The rest was poorly directed (shaky cam!), badly written, and had so little "Bond" about it that it was like a sub-prime Bourne flick.

reply

The worst Bond film was Die Another Day.

reply

Hahaha that was the first bond film I saw when i was like 8 or 9 year old and it was my favorite movie for a long time. The old ones are better but Die Another Day was pretty decent movie especially if you are a kid watching it

reply

There are parts of Die Another Day I enjoyed. I liked the sword fight, the plot angle that Bond gets captured was original and interesting... But the whole thing was underwhelming and often felt like they were doing a Bond checklist (evil lair, satellite laser, villain with physical deformity) in a way that felt cheap. They didn't come by it honestly. Sloppy writing, I think would be the culprit. I also didn't care for Halle Berry's character at all, and I've never really liked her much as an actress.

It's near the bottom of my Bond ranking heap, but it's not the worst one.

reply

I would say it diffidently is among the top candidates :-) together with "Diamonds Are Forever".

Sorry but nothing will top Die Another Day for WORST Bond movie in the franchise. Everything about DAD is awful, the story, the acting, the ridiculous gadgets/special effects (invisible car, ice hotel, the kiteboarding a tsunami!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Moonraker is not far behind.

It's pretty bad. It's difficult to single one out as the 'worst' but among the top (or worst I suppose), on my list would be:

Never Say Never Again - was pretty bad. But I liked Largo.

Diamonds Are Forever - Jill St. John / Tiffany Case

A View To A Kill -

The World Is Not Enough - Yes, I liked Die Another Day more than The World Is Not Enough. Yes, an invisible car is more believable than Denise Richards.

Quantum of Solace - I remember absolutely nothing about this movie. Not one thing stood out.

Skyfall - at the end of this movie, I thought I was watching the A-Team. Or Home Alone. But more A-Team. I expected to see George Peppard or Mr. T, or Dirk Benedict at the end.

Obviously haven't seen the Daniel Craig films which have been getting increasingly bad. Haven't seen the latest one though.

reply

A View to a Kill & For your Eyes Only, both unwatchable. Spectre was pretty bad also.

I agree. It totally sucked. In my opinion, Thunderball was the greatest Bond film and Never Ssy Never Again, which was a remake of Thunderball, completely sucked in every category possible. Never Say Never Again is hands down the crappiest, lousiest, and worst Bond film ever. Quite a few Bond films were stinkers, but none come close to this garbage.
