Did anybody notice?

...that the cinematographer, Peter Suschitzky, was the same guy that photographed Empire Strikes Back, arguably the best of all Star Wars Movies.
I still think the look to this movie is beautiful. It's hard to tell how bad the production design was or wasn't because Susch knew how to light and shoot the sets- there's a regal quality to the colors, that looks much richer than most movies, especially for 1983- this guy must have had great family photos!!

Say what you will about Krull as a Star Wars rip-off, but at least they hired the right people. It's always been a HUGE gamble to make a big budget movie, and unfortunately this one had to settle for the cult follwing, which usually means flop and the box office.

And just so we're all clear here, a 5.9 rating for this film is horse@#$%! This is a good movie- not great, I gave it a 7 initially, but might have to stuff the box to help offset the morons who gave it a 1 because it's a supposed star wars rip-off. Losers.

Beautiful sets and costumes for the Slayers but they had a script written for 5 year olds, terrible actors except for Liam Neeson and so thats why it bombed.

I thought Alun Armstrong & Freddie Jones were good in it and the soundtrack is great. I saw it at 10 years old so I can watch it still with kids eyes.

I saw this when it came out as a double feature at the drive in I forget what the other movie was but I remember this movie and thought it was pretty good! I didn't think of it as a knockoff of something else and the premise of the moving city and the woman in the web was pretty cool, I hit 6 but I'm gna bump it to a 7.
I admit nothing!

Star Wars rip off!? How could anybody draw that conclusion!? This movie is nothing like Star Wars. Not even close. No space battles, no giant walking war machines, no giant moon-sized space station capable of blowing an entire planet into asteroids. Aside from some generic sci-fi elements, where and how does this movie even remotely resemble Star Wars? I'd love for someone to answer that.
