If you asked most people to list a popular Argento film, most would probably say Deep Red or Suspiria. I think they're easily his top two titles with the general public. Only real fans of him as a director really know much about his other films or can even name all of them. Tenebre is certainly more well-known than his 90s and 00s work, but it's still not the first film that comes to mind when most people think of Argento. I think on that basis alone, Tenebre can't necessarily be overrated compared to Deep Red since it's Deep Red that has such a huge reputation.
