Thoughts on Without Warning

- Whoever wrote Predator had to have seen this before.

- Why in the world would they kill off Cameron Mitchell in the beginning of the movie???

- Jack Palance can get out of any situation with a pocket knife.

You bet they did, even the same guy plays the alien in both movies. The horrific scene in the trees in Predator is obviously inspired by the shed scene in Without Warning. Predator is the same movie, but redone with more money and talent.

I'm surprised that its rating is so low. I gave it 7, but I maybe I'm subjective, because it is one of these horrific childhood memories that stay with you forever.

I always enjoy low-budget '80s horror films and deserves higher ratings, this one is one of my favorites.

Curious, checking this out tonight!

Almost certainly.

Every single film has it's influences.

Alien (1979) aped Mario Bava's Planet of the Vampires (1965). Supposedly also It! The Terror From Beyond Space (1958), I can't speak too much on that as I haven't seen that one.

You see people call films rip-offs of others when often the film they're ripping-off also borrowed from others. It's a never ending road. People, even subconciously/unaware, are foreverly influenced by the media they see and their own life experiences.
