Does anyone know if the original 5 hour + version has ever been seen by anybody other than the former United Artists studio execs? Is it available on a bootleg DVD? Even though I didn't really like "Heaven's Gate", it be interesting to see Michael Cimino's original vision.
shareI saw "a" 5+ hr. version of the movie a couple of years ago on one of the movie channels. I didn't see it all, though, because obviously I had to take a couple of bathroom breaks, and stretch my legs, etc. It would work better today as a mini-series on HBO. The full-length version isn't that bad actually--not as bad as the reputation that precedes the movie.
