Subtitles Vs. English Dub?
What's the best (most enjoyable way) to watch this movie, with the subtitles or the English Dub?
Are there any Miyazaki movies that have really bad dubs?
Thanks for your opionion in advance...

Manga Entertainment created the English dub, which is newer and technically more accurate. That's about it. My biggest gripe about the newer Manga dub is that it contains an unfit amount of swearing for what's otherwise a light G-to-PG movie. (It's not bad for a Manga dub, but they completely missed the spirit of the movie for the details.)
The Streamline dub, while older and less accurate, is full of the kind of warmth and emotion you'd only get from a 1980 release -- fun, emotional... the actors were clearly having fun when they made it. (Bob Bergen voice acts for Miyazaki movies still.)
It's like comparing a CD to a record -- new, technical, and stiff, versus old, warm, compellingly nostalgic. And when you're watching an old movie, sometimes the old experience is the best.
(Go Streamline.) ;)
I watched the sub today and really enjoyed it, but the end didn't record so I was trying to find it online and ended up watching a second of a dubbed version, I think the newer one but didn't like it so much even though I usually prefer dubs, maybe it was just because I'd watched the rest subbed and with Japanese voices but I found the end subbed and watched that instead.
