So Jesse had five brothers?
Since Bo, Luke, Daisy, Coy, and Vance are first cousins of each other, can we then assume that Jesse had at least five brothers?

shareSure, why not? I'm the youngest of six boys myself.
I can't remember, though... was it said they were all first cousins?
Don't forget Jeb Stuart Duke which brings it up to 6 brothers, although I personally think Jeb and Coy were brothers so it could be either 5 or 6. Not all that uncommon for the time.
shareIn Hillbilly Land, EVERYONE is EVERYONE'S cousin...
shareYup. I've brought that up to people before. Always thought it was interesting.

The back story was that the parents were all killed in a car crash, hence Uncle Jesse taking the boys and Daisy in...If 5 or 6 brothers (plus their wives), must've been a big car they were traveling in and/or what Roscoe would call a horrendous crash...
Maybe they were in a van? Or a camper?

possibly more than That...
if you'll recall when Coy & Vance were written off they were sent to help out another Aunt...
However... this does assume that 'Uncle'/'Aunt' directly refer to 'Sibling of Parent' and that they are ALL first cousins...
Season 1 (the original 5 episodes to be exact) has several references implying that Bo/Luke/Daisy are in fact under 21(drinking age at the time was 18) at the start of the series and while never addressed, because they simply changed the names on Bo/Luke scripts, Coy/Vance showing up in season 5 could be several years younger again...
Greater anomaly is that almost No one on show seems to have siblings or children of their own who appear... only cousins, nephews/nieces, and aunts/Uncles...
- the exceptions being one-offs by Luke's thought dead Brother Jud, and Boss Hogg's Good Twin Brother Abe Lincoln Hogg
and still Boss has 3? Nephews appear, none of which were Identified as Abe's sons

Plus, Uncle Jessie believed the future of the Duke clan lies with Daisy, because he never thought Bo and Luke would ever get married and have children.
One of the 'First Five' (the original 5 episodes filmed in Georgia) made a Clear reference to Bo and/or Luke being a regular at the RV Brothel...
and I recall a baby on the doorstep plot in with they got the stink eye from Jesse for the possibility they had 'gotten a girl in trouble'
so it was obvious that the Duke DNA was in circulation
I don't remember any of that.
Changes it a little. I thought they were cool types of guys, not ones who had to resort to paying for it.
My grandfather had 16 siblings: 13 brothers and 3 sisters. My grandmother (his wife) had 8 siblings: 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
