Is anybody still alive who watched this show?
This was a slice of the ‘70s. So sanctimonious at times

shareFunny. I caught it a few times. Never really watched it, and don't remember much about it. If only American families were actually like this instead of a bunch of alienate selfish pigs trying screw each other out of their family's money.

I saw it as kid with my family. I just saw the episode where a friend of Buddy's visits her, and Buddy discovers she is an alcoholic.
What's interesting about that episode is how it's NOT the same actress as the other one who use to live in the neighborhood.
And when she visits the house she use to live in it's also NOT the same house as the other younger actress lived in before she moves away.
It's very similar looking, but I put the 2 houses side by side and one of the has more windows than the other one does.
I'd also gone back looking to see if it was the same actress or not (which it isn't because they also have 2 different names in the credits).
The original actress who played Laura in Season 1 was Kim Richards, a very popular child star. I suppose she was too busy to return in Season 3.
shareThanks for the explanation. I was thinking maybe she was still to young to play the part of an alcoholic.
I'm also watching "WHEN THE BOUGH BREAKS" where KATE discovers she's 6 weeks pregnant (which leaves just 9 more episodes to go before having seen ALL of them). One of Buddy's friends is also trying to SEDUCE poor Willie because she doesn't want to be a VIRGIN anymore.
The last episode 29 yr old NANCY had an affair with a 21 yr old guy that BUDDY had a crush on. And after ANNIE said she wanted to meet Buddy's new boyfriend Nancy told Annie she was spending the night at her place.
Oh yes...that is the episode with Dominique Dunne (from Poltergeist) guest starring as Buddy's friend. So sad what happened to her!
shareI watched Family sporadically for the first few seasons. Some of the episodes features issues that my own family never dealt with - or would never talk about if we did. A guess that captured my attention. At some point I lost interest in the characters and all the week-to-week drama they were dealing with. According to Wikipedia the show's ratings started to tank after Season 3, so I guess I wasn't the only one who stopped watching.
