This film is gut-bustingly hilarious at times, especially in the scene where he's trying to talk to his wife on the phone and he blurts out "WILL YOU JUST SHUT THE *beep* UP AND LISTEN TO ME??!! LISTEN TO ME!!!" and he looks like a man about to go insane, lol

It's a black comedy/gallows humor.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

It definitely had some funny parts, especially at the beginning.

Most likely it was done to lighten the mood, but maybe the real-life scenario was really that ridiculous.

What's funny is how Sal didn't want to be described as a sexual deviant yet he wasted the last day of his life and lost his life so Leon could get a sex change. If that's not the stupidest reason to die, I don't know what is.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

I've watched this exactly twice all the way through.

First time, I took it completely seriously...mmm, pretty good Suspense/Drama.

Second time, a few months later? Laughed my ass off from beginning to end.

There's a ton of very funny stuff in this movie.

That's exactly what i thought too and came to IMDb to see under what genre it was classified.

It's the scene at the beginning where one of the robbers wanted out, which was already borderline comedy, but then the whole misunderstanding with the car and him coming back again after he saw the girl under the desk, the whole situation seemed so grotesque that i reckoned it must be a comedy too.

I was surprise to see it's not the case.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs
