Who would you cast in a re-make?

I was thinking about it and I'm not really sure who would be good for both Paul and Jean.

well first off these roles along with the concept of the movie would have to be done intelligently .By two very skilled actors resembling the originals maybe the only two actors that i think would/could pull this off johnny depp cate blanchet .If they were to redo it with unknowns or anyone else it wouldn't come out as good .Just hollywood pretentious Garbo

honestly, some movies are just not meant to be re-made. i truly believe this is one of them. the reason being is that it has brandos signature on it, and i just dont think anyone else can be taken seriously playing the part of paul

i cant think of any other male actor today that can make the scenes that brando played actually work the way he did. for the female lead, i think Kate winslet or kate blanchett would be pretty good.

the actor would have to be very strong with a deep and rich emotional inner life.Which marlon portrayed flawlessly in this film every little emotion was underneath and over the course of the movie it bubbled up .Most actors today are 1 dimensional easy to read everything is on the surface .As far as females to play this role i agree with kate blanchett .She would probably be the only one that could pull it off.Maybe amy adams or even and emmy rossum.

What an insult...

Marlon Brando is the best actor the ever lived past and present and probably in the future.

Aside from that ,i am sick of remakes and prequels...

only daniel day-lewis would be able to take Brando's character and give us something good enough to be comparable, whether or not he does a similar take on the character.

If I *had* to remake this, I'd probably make the characters into two men.

A bette question would be who could pull off these characters as good as marlon and maria?

My mother would show up on time and know all her lines but who wants to pay to see my mother?
