This movie is depressing for people who were born in a much later age

This movie left me with an extremely nostalgic-like feeling, even though it can't be nostalgia because I wasn't even born back then. It's like this movie glorified the place and time in which it takes place to such an extent that I actually want to be there, while making me resent my own generation (social media, globalization, financial crisis, individualisation). It leaves me feeling sort of sad inside... Am I alone in this, or is anyone with me?

BTW sorry for the rash generalization in the title, had to attract attention I guess.

So the OP admits he is an inarticulate attention whore and that is, somehow, supposed to be okay.

It’s not.

yes my first think after watching this recently is i would like to live in age when this film is set.

it looks to be woketardfree environment. peoples just having fun in youth and no woketards in sight ruining enjoyments for everyone.

There's something nostalgic for me about the 50s. Even though this was set in 1962, the look and feel is still an extension of the previous decade. For me reading Elvis in the Twilight of Memory was what made me feel so nostalgic for the time period. It made me feel like I had set foot in Biloxi, Florida, and Memphis in 1956 and it was painted as this beautiful dreamy and surreal time period. This film must've done the same for you, able to bring you along for the ride of the film's setting.

Fuck alleged nostalgia. The cast was weak (the loathsome Richard Dreyfuss) and Lucas stole the urban legend of the girl in the T-bird with “Beat me and eat me” written on the doors.

This era looked like a blast, man. I don't want to sound like a boomer but the internet ruined things.

Testament to how well Lucas created atmosphere with this movie.
