Time for a remake

I have read the novel and seen this movie version and am convinced that, if remade today with a nice budget, this could make one of the best movies in a long time. I think Michel Gondry would make a very good director for the project.

What do you all think?

Why a remake???

There's at least 'The Jacob's Ladder' and 'The Jacket' already... maybe more.

And besides, I REALLY like this movie just as it is. A remake would suck. Did I say I like this movie how it is? I do like it the way it is, and I think a remake would make a much worse movie of the story...
