SPOILERS - do you think the parents were correct?

To exact a form of brutal and violent and deadly revenge on the perpetrators, without, perhaps, trying to report them to the police, first? And even if law may have been ineffective here, were they still in the right to do what they did in your opinion, cheers thanks.

Was their "Keystone Cops"-like ineptitude added for humour? Comic relief? Dark comedy?

My guess is Dark Comedy. Even the cutback scenes with the wife and husband seemed intentionally off. What did you think?
