what are your top ten favourite films?

just interested, what would you say are your top ten favourite films of all time?

reply

I hate this question because I tried to do it and realized I like way too many films. In terms of directors, though, I would list Fellini, Kurosawa, Bergman and Kubrick in that order as my favorite of all time.

reply

I have enjoyed and appreciated all of the films people have mentioned here, at least the ones I've seen, but my list isn't as predictable. Most of these movies have sentimental meaning to me, and nobody has the same list, I can guarantee you.

10.Clerks
9.Fargo
8.Reservoir Dogs
7.Back To The Future
6.Monty Python And The Holy Grail
5.Being John Malkovich
4.Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
3.The Nightmare Before Christmas
2.Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
1.This Is Spinal Tap

Sorry if my favorites aren't as 'intellectual' as most lists you'll see on here, not to discredit anyone else for choosing The Godfather or Citizen Kane as their favorite film.

reply

Nice choices. I'm going to try to do the same and be honest with the ones that affected me the most emotionally or imaginatively rather than what I think SHOULD be on there because of their technical or artistic greatness.

Braveheart
Blade Runner
The Fellowship of the Ring
Ponyo
Star Wars: A New Hope
Baraka
The New World
Fallen Angels
North by Northwest
Nausicaa
