Great Movie But I've 4 questions...

4 unanswered questions about THE KILLING:

- Who was the narrator? It seems he was not any of the players involved.

- It was shown very clearly that the suitcase had a big lock on it. How could this suitcase get opened so easily with interaction of such a small dog? I know this way the ending would be more dramatic and heartbreaking but the question need to be answered in a logical manner.

- Toward the end, when Goerge got in the room and opened fire to Val (his wife's boyfriend) and Val's accomplice, all people in the room got killed (including the 4 people involved in the robbery). It was not clear who killed who! Any idea?

- When Johnny drops such a big bag of money down the window, how come there was no police or security down there? Such a place is a good robbery target. One should expect somewhat tighter security. Do you not think so?

As robbery and prison break as my favorite types, it was a great movie suspencse and I enjoyed every minute of it. I would give it 8.3/10. It was nicely wrapped up under 90 minutes. Another well-done picture by the master Stanley Kubrick considering this was one of his early pictures.

1. He's just the narrator. The guy who's telling us the story.

2. The keys Johnny got with the suitcase were the wrong ones. When he tried to lock it, they wouldn't work, so he gave up and tossed them in the bushes.

3. Val had a short-barreled shotgun loaded with quarter-inch buckshot. The spread hit everybody in the room, killing them all but only wounding George. George shot Val with his handgun.

4. Johnny dropped the bag from a high window with no exterior access. Nobody anticipated any reason to have security down on the ground there.

Did anybody mention Marvin Unger walking in on Johnny and Faye?

Early in the film we are being introduced to the various participants and backstories. We have Johnny with his girl friend Faye talking about getting rich from the heist and she is insecure about her looks and begs Johnny to not leave her. Then Marvin stops by for a visit.

Problem with the scene is that Marvin enters the apartment and the room they are in without knocking or announcing himself. Just walks in. Half startled Marvin says "Oh hi Johnny". Then Johnny tells Faye to leave saying that Faye is late for an appointment.

The problem with the scene is why would he just walk in on them like that. Or be able to. Don't they lock the door? What if they were naked in bed? It is a great heist film with some interesting back stories but they missed something there.
