When do Fred and Ethel move to CT?
In what episode do they move to Connecticut?
shareIn "Lucy Raises Chickens". The Ricardos look for a way to make extra money and they decide to raise chickens. Fred comes on board to manage the business.
shareThanks, I watched that episode yesterday. Did anybody ever mention that the Connecticut house had a guest house before this episode? It's kind of like they just made up a guest house spur of the moment. I'm enjoying these CT episodes because it's nice to see some new sets and I haven't seen these episodes as much as the others, but it's strange that they waited so late in the show's run to make the move. They should have done a couple of seasons of half hour shows at the farm house.
shareNo, I think the guest house magically appeared so the Mertzes would have a place to live!
As for moving to Connecticut earlier, I wish they had started doing episodes about Lucy wanting to move instead of doing the Florida episodes. For some reason, I usually skip those. The one where the girls got a ride with Mrs. Grundy (the hatchet murderer, or so they thought) was funny. But I never cared for the others too much.
I'm sure the writers were running out of ideas for stories that could take place in the confines of the brownstone. First they took the gang to Hollywood, then Europe and Florida.
The sixth season should have opened with the Ricardos visiting friends in Connecticut and Lucy deciding that she wanted to move. They could have done many more episodes in Connecticut and used their wonderful neighbors, Betty and Ralph Ramsey, a lot more.
Do you think the title "Lucy Raises Chickens" is not quite accurate? She wasn't technically raising chickens, she was selling eggs!
