Colorized or Black and White?
I myself like both..
shareB&W, no contest.
Marriage is between one man and one woman, to the exclusion of all others.
Black and white!
Colorized version = something was added in after the film was made.
I am in love with the colorized version. I'm not usually a big fan of old movies being colorized, but they did a great job with this one. It's like watching a whole new movie.
shareI agree with you, with this film they made it look how it would have looked if it had originally been shot in colour.
Let Zygons Be Zygons.
Same here. I've seen a few coloured black and white movies - Red River, Laurel and Hardy movies... and they look don't good at all.
They did a great job with It's A Wonderful Life though. And it's the colour version that made me a fan of the movie.
B&W definitely
shareI saw a showing at a movie theater several years ago. Before the movie they announced that since it was a digital copy we had the coice of colorized or b&w. The whole audience yelled black & white. Not a single person called for colorized.
shareBlack and White FTW
shareI never saw it in color until I bought the Blu Ray version. I'm old school like a lot of posters here but it's spectacular! In color in HD Blu Ray! I watch both with the same enthusiasm!
shareI worked on the colour version.
shareReally, McNamara-bill? I think you folk did a wonderful job!
I understand people wanting films the way they were first shot, and I have a definite appreciation for period b&w myself. But the colourised version of this film (on the Blu-ray release from Paramaount) is wondrous; it reminds me of vintage hand-tinted photos, which makes me smile, but it's also quite nuanced and ingenious. Personally, I'm really glad for the job you did. Thank you!
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
