Has anyone been to or lived in Kansas? What's it like?

I've never been so just curious.

I've never been either, but I know a little bit about it. It's as flat as a table, and the setup is similar to what Oklahoma is like:

On the eastern side of the state, you have forests and rivers, to the west you have the High Plains, where the stereotypical flat, endless grass and corn is. If you flew over it with a plane, it would resemble a giant quilt, with all the farm fields covering the landscape. The soil is rich and the state is home to one of America's Breadbaskets.

Kansas is, unfortunately, in the Heart of Tornado Alley. It's an area where severe thunderstorms develop in springtime and drop twisters frequently. The one benefit to having the land be so flat is, you can see the storms and the twisters coming miles before they actually hit. It's pretty normal for people in Kansas to have storm cellars.

I grew up in a Plains state, so I have a pretty good idea what Kansas is like, to a degree, but Illinois does have a few minor differences compared to Kansas.

Very windy because it's so flat, same goes for Nebraska to the North and Oklahoma to the south. Once you get into Missouri the rolling hills stop the wind and so you can go outside and enjoy your meth addiction.

As I said uptopic, I'm from Nebraska. We have a joke here that would also apply to Kansas and Oklahoma.

One day the wind stopped in Nebraska and everyone fell over.
