This movie was sooo annoying!

I'm usually a big fan of old movies, and I generally like screwball comedies like The Marx Brothers but this was just annoying from start to finish. I actually have a headache after watching it all the way through.

Did anyone else feel this way?

no

completely, i was so disappointed, cary grant's acting was disappointing to say the least and the actual characters themselves were irritating, i found it so boring and annoying, i've been trying to watch this movie for the past two days, i still haven't finished, don't know if i should finish or not, i feel like i wasted a lot of my time, but i want to have finished it since i already wasted so much time watching an hour of it.

I can't believe you didn't like Cary Grant's acting. No one every complains about the job he did in this movie.

it could easily have been due to his annoying character but i guess it's down to personal preference :/

Yes, but that can change with your mood, your age, your somehow taking the movie in the spirit that was intended. One thing that can destroy almost any movie is expecting one thing and getting something very different.Reaction to humor is notoriously subjective, but it is also not fixed. There are movies that I did not think were funny the first time that I saw them that later became favorite movies of mine.A lot of people, including myself, think that this is a great movie. I hope you will try it again in a few years. A couple of beers might get you in the right mood. For easy markup in Firefox & Opera, see http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/42255

Yes! And audiences felt the same way in 1938.

I liked this movie, but can kind of see why you would feel this way. There are multiples scenes where everyone seems to be talking at once, especially during the jail scene.

Son, you got a panty on your head.

I have to wonder what definition of "sexist" you are using. Certainly one that I have never run across before.

I have no idea if you're complaining about the treatment of the man or the woman. They are both comic characters.

As in so many so-called "screwball comedies," the heroine is a modern woman, and she goes after what she wants without regard for her own dignity.

If you think the original is sexist, then your "remake" would be sexist as well, of course.

In fact, your reasoning is very sexist, whatever you think the word means.

I used to love it, but watching it recently, I found Katharine Hepburn very annoying it. I think Charlie Ruggles and May Robson were the best thing about the movie...they DID make me laugh.

I'm late to comment, but I got so tired of the words "David" and "Susan"! I would have enjoyed the movie much more if they hadn't been said every other sentence.

George! George! George!
