Fired from Scream 7.
After continuing to post endlessly about Palestine on her Instagram, they ultimately fired her for saying Jews control the media.

This is getting totally out of control.
She doesn't deserve to get her career ruined only because she made some comments regarding the Middle East War.
Why not just warning her first?
She has been posting it constantly since Oct 7th. Maybe they did give her a warning.
shareWell if they warned and yet she still continued then that's a very different story.
I don't know...
I'm sure they've communicated with her regarding reasons why, but if her reaction was less than a mea culpa, things would collapse quickly. These parties have to act and act quickly, lest they be accused of being supportive or not caring.
shareThat's why I think Melissa should try to clarify this publicly.
shareSomeone will get to her, then she'll make a statement after meeting with a rabbi or something. She's not really a big star yet, so it's hard to hang in there and hope.
shareFunny how people can actively support Israel genociding Palestinians, but if you mention that Israel is being unfair to Palestinian citizens by keeping them locked in a concentration camp for extermination (which is ironic considering what happened in 1930s and 1940s Germany), you lose your career and are permanently blacklisted.
shareWell yeah, because you would have told a pernicious lie, during a cancel culture ironically created by Leftists.
shareMartyDeniro, then I hope this decision gets reverted and she comes back to the Scream 7 production.
shareShe get a PR job with Hamas.
shareLooks like she’s done for
shareSome have had enough. Spyglass quietly dropped Melissa Barrera as the star of the next “Scream” film, sources say, due to her social media posts that referred to Israel as a “colonized” land and floated an antisemitic trope that Jews control the media, writing: “Western media only shows the [Israeli] side. Why do they do that, I will let you deduce for yourself.” Barrera did not respond to a request for comment.
shareI'm getting sick of these pro-Palestine people blame Western media as if they're wrong. Does she think Middle Eastern media isn't going to be pro-Palestine? These people talk about Palestine as if they're some small innocent country that just wants to live in peace. Someone should show Melissa Barrera this:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_political_violence
Maybe you should read up on how Israel has purposely prevented Palestinians from achieving a Two-State solution by undermining the deal so they could eventually concoct a way to exterminate them:
https://www.britannica.com/topic/two-state-solution
When the situation was reversed and the Nazis did that to the Jews, people lost their minds. But when the Jews do it to the Palestinians there are all sorts of excuses about how even Palestinian civilians deserve to be genocided.
You people are sick.
Did you even click the link? It provided examples of Palestine doing terrorist attacks in OTHER countries that are not Israel. It even gave numbers of them killing their own.
shareWikipedia is untrustworthy Left-wing propaganda.
You'll need to provide legitimate citations showing that Palestinians are doing what you claim.
Lol this classic lie. Translation any source which does not agree with your narrative is left wing. Therefore it gives you an easy way to discredit it. Nice logic there champ.
shareWikipedia has footnotes, you know.
shareAll right, link the sources that validate your point?

The Human Rights Watch is at least not a typical Lefty-rag, but that doesn't mention anything about Palestinians committing terrorists acts in other countries as you claimed.
In fact, your article even validates my previous points, stating...
"Most Palestinian armed groups claim to disavow the use of children in military activities, but at least 10 children have carried out suicide attacks in Israel and the Occupied Territories since October 2000. [...]
"Major Palestinian armed groups, including Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Islamic Jihad, and Hamas, have publicly disavowed the use of children in military operations, but those stated policies have not always been implemented."
Abu Mezer stated that he intended to kill as many Jews as possible in a suicide bomb attack. He claimed he was a supporter, but not a member, of Hamas.
"Major Palestinian armed groups, including Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Islamic Jihad, and Hamas, have publicly disavowed the use of children in military operations, but those stated policies have not always been implemented."
Your B'Tselem link actually also further proves my point. It shows Israelis have killed more Palestinians than Palestinians have killed Israelis.
Vox is a Leftist propaganda rag, so obviously that's discounted since they unironically push fake news.
2400 people died in the Pearl Harbor attacks. As retaliation, the USA dropped 2 bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing about 150,000-200,000. Was the USA in the wrong because they killed more?
The left are the ones who are overwhelmingly in favour of freeing Palestine.
Here's an interesting fact, the UN told Palestine to support a two-state solution on two separate occasions and on both occasions, Palestine declined.
This kind of proves my point, though. Genociding people for the crimes of a few.
No, they're caught in a quagmire of dissonance. A quantum entanglement of cognitive confusion.
No they did not decline. Israel pulled shenanigans so that the deals they originally agreed upon never went through.
The Nazis weren't "a few".
The partition plan was rejected by the Arabs, and the ensuing conflict over territory led to the first Arab-Israeli war (1948–49).?
How many Nazi nations were there versus Allied nations?
Nice cherry picking. Now how about you quote the parts about the Two-State nation proposals in the 1990s and early aughts, and who was responsible for waylaying.
The United Nations told Palestine to do it and they declined (which you said they never did).
I don't deny that. But that doesn't change the fact that when Jews were at their most vulnerable and the United Nations told Palestine to accept the two-state solution, Palestine declined. Now the United Nations is complaining about Israel occupying Palestine. Their standards are insane.
shareAlso, the Africa one literally has nothing to do with Palestinians, it's just a random group of Islamic terrorists who didn't like Israelis.
shareSo.... they proved her right. Either they aren't self aware or just don't care what they make obvious.
“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize”
To be fair, she's perpetuating a trope. If I got fired from my job by my female boss for saying women belong in the kitchen and then my boss cooks a wonderful meal for the rest of the employees, I can't just go, "see, I was right".
shareWrong.
It's as if you said, "female bosses can't take criticism and are known for being controlling", and so they fired you for making those statements, proving that they can't take criticism and are known for being controlling.
You can say that about anything. "Fags can't take any criticism". Then if a gay boss fires them, they can't respond with "you're just proving my point." The issue is that you called them a fag, not that you said they could take criticism.
shareFalse equivalence. You're purposely using what the gay community considers a slur.
In the case of Barrera, she didn't use any slurs, she literally pointed out a blatant truth.
That's debatable. Saying Jews control the media is a considered an antisemitic trope to a lot of people. Notice how pro-Palestine people keep mentioning not to listen to Western media.
shareWhat? But they do literally control the the largest media networks:
https://anonup.com/upload/images/2021/07/87DR1uNKiY5TrgdEHtMT_07_5068f85c5b76bc6ecbc88c7021d4bed3_image_original.png
How are basic facts antisemitic? Or is it that just it... that facts are antisemitic if they contain uncomfortable truths?
Because it's a generalization. That's like saying Muslims are terrorists. Are all Muslims terrorists? No. Are all terrorists Muslims? Also no.
And if Jews controlled the media, you wouldn't be seeing any anti-Israel media whatsoever. All you did was list a few owned by Jews. What about Time, CNN, Forbes, Daily Mail, CBC, Al Jazeera, Fox, MSN, India Times, Times of India, The Sun (UK), Reuters, RT, Associated Press, USA Today, Xinhua News Agency, NBC News, Global Times, Financial Times?
CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC:

Fox Corp owns The Sun and Fox.
And obviously RT is funded in part by the Russian state.
What's interesting is that USA Today is owned by Gannett, who is a subsidiary of Fortress, whose founders are tied to Blackrock. Yes, the same Blackrock Investment who pushes ESG scores on major corporations around the world.
Essentially, though, the point still stands that almost all the major media networks are owned, operated, or funded by a majority of Jewish people.
Again, all you did was name corporations Jews own. Saying "the Jews control the media" is an Americentric comment. Do you think Jews control the media in Africa or the Middle East? How about China or India? That's 4 billion people right there which aren't under this alleged "Jewish takeover". The reason why pro-Palestine people are against the West is because of this. They want their own narrative out there.
There are 1.9 billion Muslims in the World compared to only 16 million Jews. Do you really think 16 million Jews have more power of the media than 1.9 billion people? Saying "it's a fact that Jews control the media" is quite a generalization and implies that they have bias and can't be trusted.

It's a Western-centric statement, since most of the ones I named and referenced involve mostly Western European and North American media conglomerates.
Jewish people aren't predominantly in China or India, so it doesn't matter what they say over there because it doesn't affect the Western anglosphere.
How many Muslims in the U.K., U.S., Germany, France, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Iceland, Greenland, or Ireland are CEOs of major media corporations?
grabblers hate when you call them out and will always cry in pain as they strike you.
They call you anti-semitic, but never a liar. I'm glad more normies are waking up to this
Clearly she's got some strong convictions about this issue, but was putting this out there really worth torpedoing her entire career?
shareThis is why celebrities should shit up. Jenna Ortega is playing it smart.
shareThis is where I stand.
Melissa Barrera is clearly passionate and hot headed about this particular subject but she's made a fool of herself and in her angry outbursts has veered towards hatred and conspiracy theory. She like many others are bringing up 'concentration camps' and essentially likening Israel to Nazi Germany which is in very poor taste, then when you factor in her comments where it seems she's implying western media is biased in favor of Israel because of 'reasons' then it becomes quite clear she harbors some antisemitic attitudes.
It's her own fault.
Many celebs who I have no doubt are pro-Palestine haven't said a thing. Dua Lipa is one who has been pro-Palestine in previous years and she did sign a ceasefire petition sent to Joe Biden so it's quite clear what her stance is but she hasn't said a damn thing since the attacks on October 7th because she knows it's a minefield.
As an MMA fan I know of many muslim fighters who have posted online in favor of ending the war. When muslim cage fighters are being more level headed and PR friendly than a Mexican actress who has been in the USA for quite a while it says a lot. She's an idiot and should have kept her mouth shut or alternatively just supported a peaceful solution to the conflict.
You are correct. Bringing up concetration camps and genocide is in poor taste given the history of Jews. If would be like if a few people from New York bombed some foreign city and people were comparing it to 9/11.
