It's poor form really.

The cultural experience of riding a white horse through the streets of Peckham (presumably riding past Peckham Spring) is a unique experience only authentic for those growing up in that area, irrespective of race.

John is quite right to be angry at the unrealistic concept of a Chinese man also riding a white horse in an urban setting.

Weirdly enough, it reminds me of what happened to a Hong Kong movie called God of Gamblers III: Back to Shanghai. They had to cast a different lead actress for the Taiwanese version because there was a rule about Mainland performers not being allowed to be showcased in Taiwan cinemas.
