One reality about life is that you can get around anything with money, time and planning. Whether Osaka or Djokovic a good agent would have found a way to "smooth" all this over before it damaged any reputations and ruffled any feathers. If you are managing a multi-million dollar asset this exactly what you get paid big bucks for... managing your clients eccentricities.

No one's going to expect that to happen entering a first world country so it's not like they would have said "Well I don't think think you should apply for a visa as they'll likely rescind on it, arrest you and throw you in a detention center on arrival..."
Well he lied on his visa, that's part of the problem. A good agent would have found a way around that which would not expose him to the related complications.

As per previous post no one is going to expect countries like Australia to detain people after granting visas in the first place. But then perhaps decent checks should have been made in the first place.
