He didn't win all the slams in a single year, but I think he will go on to cement himself as the best of all-time. I am glad to know that he still has at least one foil out there in the name of Daniil Medvedev.
Good to see, next gen proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Heard some people say that Djok only won because this era is weak which is laughable.
Hes 25 and he´s 9 years younger than Novak which makes him next gen to me unless you are one of those that thinks a gen happens every 5 years.
Moreover, "nextgen" has always been considered the generation after the big 3 of which Medvedev belongs to since he has always been one of the ones spoken of as replacing the big 3.
Medvedev is no joke, #2 in the world. Playing in this final he was hitting really good angles against an older Djoker that looked tired. Plus Medvedev's serve was exhausting just watching on TV, can't imagine what it looked like going straight down the T.
As far a Djoker, this loss wasn't a fluke, the same thing happened to Agassi back in the 90's. Agassi went into the U.S. Open on a ferocious winning streak by the time he got to the Final he had won 26 matches in a row. Then he got crushed by Sampras.

i didn't watch the entire match, but i caught a pretty comprehensive game summary last night, and it didn't seem to me that djokovic played poorly. there were lots of competitive points it seemed, at least from what i saw.
