Describe Taylor Swift in One Word
Banal.
Which word would you use to describe her?
Bland.
sharePop
shareEras
shareOverrated
sharePretty and I think everyone in this topic so far is a jerk. And I don't even listen to her music. But, wow! You are all so harsh towards a person you don't even know.

Well so far from what I've read described about her, this really isn't that bad as much as you're making it out to be?? Let's see, one poster said she was Bland, another said "Pop", another said "Eras", I said "Overrated" and another said "Fartsy but not artsy.. What's the problem?? It's not like any of us are wishing death on this woman?? Relax
shareI never knew that the word 'pop' was offensive?
shareWhat's wrong with the word 'pop'? That's the genre of her music. This is not a criticism of her, it's just what I think of when I hear her name.
shareBe real. Pop is shit.
shareThe Spice Girls are pop.
shareExcluding Spice Girls, pop is shit.
shareMICHAEL JACKSON WAS THE KING OF POP....IT'S A GENRE...AND LIKE ANY GENRE...IT CONTAINS GOOD AND BAD...BOTH BEING SUBJECTIVE.
shareFair. But I stand by my comments to everything after 2000.
shareI have no problem with Dua Lipa, Billie Elish, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande - all modern pop.
shareNOT MY STYLE FOR THE MOST PART...BUT YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE A LIAR OR AN IDIOT(THE samoanjoke)...TO NOT RECOGNIZE THE TALENT.
shareI have no problem with Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift... waking up next to me.
shareAny public figure is open to commentary, particularly someone as highly marketed and with as much media exposure as Taylor Swift. There is nothing inherently mean about expressing an opinion about a public figure like this, even if the opinion is negative. Opening yourself to this kind of commentary is part of the package of exposing yourself to the public in order to reach the level of fame that Taylor Swift has.
On the other hand, your propensity to white knight for a public figure like her by calling anyone who criticizes Taylor Swift a jerk is likely more psychologically unhealthy than anyone here posting opinions about her music and public persona.
I'm sorry. I acted over sensitive. I am sensitive by nature.
shareYOU WERE FINE...DON'T TAKE THE WORDS OF ANYONE SAYING WHITE KNIGHT TOO SERIOUSLY.
shareYou could easily say the same about someone that types in caps. What would you call what he was doing?
He apologized though. Seems like a nice enough guy.
BANAL,FARTSY,BLAND,OVERRATED.

REACTING HONESTLY...AND TELLING THE TRUTH.
That's four different people, not one saying all of those things. Saying someone's a jerk because they expressed a single word with a negative connotation for something is a pretty low bar to call to come to that conclusion. Excepting maybe fartsy. That's a bit jerky.
shareDUDE FELT PEOPLE WERE BEING JERKS...I DO NOT DISAGREE WITH HIM...YOUR REPEATED REWORDING OF YOUR POSITION DOES NOT MAKE IT ANY MORE CORRECT THAN IT WAS THE FIRST TIME...THIS ENTIRE CONVERSATION IS SUBJECTIVE...MAYBE AVOID TRYING TO CORRECT OTHERS EMOTIONAL RESPONSES.
shareIt doesn't matter if we know her. You can't go anywhere in the world without hearing her music and, when that happens and you see no apparent reason why it is so, you get the right to make judgement. 20 or 30 years ago - her music is elevator music and right now she it the biggest star in the world. Makes you wonder.
