Career over?

Her character was poorly written, which is not her fault, but her acting was not able to overcome it. I actually cringed a few times at her delivery.

#1 JLAw complained about the extensive makeup process and the studio gave into her demands... even though it completely contradicted the last two films arcs about her wanting to be an "out and proud mutant who didnt want to hide and live in her own skin." they did this for her and yet she still betrayed them.. which was because ...

#2 she phoned in her performance. she was monotone, looked bored and made zero effort. Look i hate how studios have an unduly amount of control over actors and only hire those who play ball and support movies even though they know are garbage, but the studio gave into JLAWS demands. they made her the lead, they reversed 2 films of a characters arc just so JLAW only had to be in makeup a total of 1 minute 30 on screen. and despite this, she gave them one of her worse performances... its not just my opinion.. many commentary's by respected youtube channels literally LOL'd and cosntantly made fun of her (even thought they are unbiased jlaw fans) because she was so terrible... many critics ahve said how pathetically bad she is.

it was her fault... the studio caved to all her demands as i said with makeup and making her the lead protagonist, and yet she still chose to phone it in.. only she is to blame... she didnt even make an effort to deliver lines "im not a hero"..yet again fassbender, Peters, Hoult and mcavoy acted circles around her like they did in the other films and carried her sad ass. even Turner, Shipp and sherridan clearly put in effort and made her seem like a B actor.

isaacs deeply flawed and nonsensical character still shined far more than .. but keep blaming the writers...

jackmans 1 minute appearance ahd more effort and emotion than JLAWS entire performance..

The butt-scratching-rock, I think, is also a tipping point from being the charming-awkward-falling-at-the-awards-show girl to a very mild version of classless-lena-dunham.... while she is incredibly classier than LD, the rock thing just chipped away at her charming persona...

her persona has been based on her being the "normal every girl"

"i want pizza!!"

"i like french fries!!"

"i got shot by a bb gun peeing"

i rubbed my butt on stones!!"

we get it. you are a "normal person" who likes pizza and french fries and pees... her cultist fans on here literally think she has no fake persona and this is all 100% true jlaw.... they choose to ignore 80+ years of the hollywood star system and persona development just so they can think "OMGGG!! SHES just like us!!!!!"

The bloom is off the rose but that’s a long way from her career being over. Passengers was a box office disappointment but I don’t think anyone blames her for mother! She will continue to be offered top roles unless her next few films tank also.

She needs to do Passengers 2, I'd watch.
