Depp Wannabe ?...

He seems to be either trying to talk, act and look like Depp... or it's just a natural likeness. A solid role model to try and emulate but these Depp wannabes will forever live in the shadow of the great man himself. This chap needs to forge his own path on his own merits.

When hope has dwindled, died and gone, will you be left all alone ?.

I didn't get the impression that he was trying to act, talk or look like Depp.

reply

I did.

I mentioned this to him and he was actually genuinely surprised and grateful. He said that he admires Johnny and that it's a compliment that I thought that :)

^ yeah I agree with above poster when I first saw him I was like, why are you trying to be Colin Farrell. Then I saw candids of him, he even dresses like Farrell.

You're allowed to have the same haircut and facial hair as someone else without being accused of trying to 'copy' them... Their acting styles are nothing alike. Everyone has a different personality; those who try to put people who look similar in the same box just have a lack of imagination.

May be. But I wouldn't mind watching C. Farrell wanna-be's running around everywhere, every day. ;p I have to admit, I've not seen Mr. Huston take on his natural accent, only seen him on B.E. w/his American English/Slingblade-ish type voice.

I don't mind.As long as there's a bed beneath the stars that shine I'll be fine.

...Or might he have been telling you what you wanted to hear? Think about it... You're an actor who hails from a renowned family within the performing arts industry, and working hard to make a name for yourself. Then one day, some person who doesn't know you comes up and says, "Hey, do you know that what you do makes you look like *some other dude*."

What do you think you would say to that person?

Regardless of what you might say, might you not think that this person is out of his/her mind? Might you not think that this person doesn't know what they're talking about? Telling an actor (no less) that what they do looks like they're trying to emulate someone else is probably not something they're pleased to hear, no matter how they respond.
