I don't understand the criticism of making the books into films and the stigma people seem to think will be put on the lead actors who get cast. From what I've read, Fifty Shades of Grey is the best-selling book of all time. And now they're making a movie out of the best-selling book of all time. Just because the story was poorly written according to some people's opinions, doesn't mean it's going to translate badly on film. It depends on who directs it, writes the screenplay, and the actors who are cast. We don't know most of that information, so I don't understand why people are so pessimistic about the movie. There are many entertainment sites that repeatedly say Christian and the director's chair are very coveted roles. If that's the case, then I don't see a reason why Alex shouldn't go for it. I don't see it as an uphill battle, I see it as he just struck gold.
