She is beautiful, kind of a good actress and extremely hot. With that potential she could definately be acting in movies that have an imdb rating over 5. But this seems to happen rarely. This of course has made her career a series of failed movies and hot photo shoots.
So why do you think that is? My explanation is that she must have the worst taste in movies and that she is unable to distinguish between a good script/director and a bad one.
I doubt she's offered very many good roles, and probably takes the roles she can get.

The reason must be indeed the offers that she gets. It's a shame, but if she maintains long enough - who knows; she might take the Elizabeth Banks route, who acted in many, many minor stuff for a long time until she met the right people and started to be casted here,there,and everywhere. Miss Baird obviously hasn't met such people yet.
Maybe the Black Keys connection leads to something? She would be great for a retro-styled movie, sort of like "Machete" from R.Rodriguez, but hopefully something better than that. If "Once Upon a Time in the West" gets remade (yeah, right), she could be convincingly stepping into the shoes of Claudia Cardinale.

Maybe she's acting in movies that she wants to be in. It's not a failure if she gets paid to do what she likes doing.
Actors can only take the roles they are offered ,and as someone else said it is very hard to do. Especially now since everyone wants to be a celebrity.

Anyone who thinks she wouldn't want to be an A lister is severely deluded, she's acting in the only movies she can get.
The truth is hollywood has a thing against extremely stunningly beautuful women. Women who are nonthreatening to other women get the sandra bullock anne hathaway kate hudson amy adams type roles. Angelina Jolie is the only female action star that is marketed to men more than woman that I can think of. I think she Diora could be another case of being too hot for her own good and thus does not get offered many roles that do not ask her to show her rack.
Nikki Cox in the early 90s late 2100s was same way.
I think if Diora could be offered a nice tv role she should take it.
Comparing Diora Baird to any of the above is a complete moot point, since those women are world class talents, whilst Diora Baird has no acting talent whatsoever. Her only chance was to show some skin.
She might be beautiful, but if you look at her resume, it goes to show that looks can only get you so far.
