I have a job where you hear at least 3 Beatles song and one John Lennon song or traveling Wilburys or a Paul song. Can we all stop this nonsense? I almost feel like going in the Rockhall and destroying any Beatle memorabilia because that thing does nothing for tourism in Cleveland and it seems like every songwriter joe can't help but do a Beatles cover. Get a fucking life and get over this overrated crapfest of solo albums and white albums etc.
Love the Beatles. The breadth of material they released, their innovations, their genre-busting genius, and best of all the quality lyrics. It's top-notch stuff.
I understand if you're inundated with them all day (especially if it's the same three or four hits, no deep cuts), but I'm sorry, Beatles are up at the acme of musical artistry.
I hope things pick up for you; I've been there, and it can really suck, so, if taking out that negative energy and depositing it in aggressive message board posts is the way to go: you do your thing, man.
They were simply a super pop music hit making machine. Although I can't blame anyone for getting tired of hearing countless Beatles songs(some of their songs are OVER 50 years old after-all!) I highly encourage anyone to read Bob Spitz's fantastic biography on this legendary band.
I posted about my fathers guitar today because I wanted it to be known on this thread, the music meant a lot to me just never did get a band together : (
That's why I take breaks from listening to a favorite group or watching a favorite movie or TV show. I hadn't listened to any Beatles for at least 10 years to avoid becoming sick of them. Break's over!
