During the whole thing with Ukraine and now this the image of Russia as this highly powerful and controlled superpower has been shattered. They have proven to be a paper tiger.

A lot depends on what this coup was really about. Was it a real thing? What kind of coup ends in 24 hours when they were so close to Moscow?
I'd say there's a lot to digest here -
Until we get more answers, it's not a good idea to jump to any conclusions.
I'm presuming Russia does have an air force so I can't help but wonder how they were free to drive straight up the main motorway to Moscow, in a single file convoy, for hundreds of kilometres without any issue.

They have an airforce and sent them after them. They lost few choppers and a transport airplane. Cool footage of it falling from the sky in flames. Wagner also took some hits on the road. It is hard, because they were mixing with civilian traffic and also using many civilian trucks and cars. One likely factor for not wiping them out could have been that they didn't want to slaughter hundreds and even thousands "war heroes" who were greeted by the people on streets of Rostov, not to mention the civilians on the road (if they even bother about civilian casualties in Russia). Chances for taking Moscow were nil anyway.
