Temperatures broke records, with the coldest temperature ever recorded at −30 °F (−34 °C) on January 31, 2019. Wind chills got dangerously low as −58 °F (−50 °C) on January 30, 2019.
Meanwhile, Top Scientists say Earth is getting warmer.
Where I am the temperature change in the last two days was 2 degrees F. T W O degrees. If that's not proof of Climate Change(registered trademark) I'll kiss your dog's hairy ass.
Atmospheric temperatures have risen 2 °F. This means that there is extra heat in the atmosphere. And, heat means energy. Storms need heat. The more heat there is, the larger and stronger the storms become. It is about storms, not whether there are sunny, hot days or cold, snowy days. That all comes from how we are tilted towards the sun. We are tilted more towards it in the summer, and more away from it in the winter. That difference in tilt is going to far outweigh that 2 degrees of additional heat in the atmosphere. But, with that extra temperature increase, it fuels the storms. Snowstorms only happen because you have air that is warmer than the other air around it rising into the atmosphere. And, that warmer air takes the moisture up with it. And, the warmer that rising air is, the higher it builds the clouds. And, when that energy finally runs out, "what goes up, must come down" and that moisture comes down as snow, rain, etc. And, the bigger the storms are, the harder and longer that precipitation is going to be.
