Tucker is still in primetime and beats the CNN competition handily. Lemon was bounced from primetime and tried to play it off as a promotion. I guess you could call that "cockiness." It's more like denial. But he's 56. He's nearing the end of his career. He's whistling past graveyards, at this point.
Tucker laughs at "Don L'mon," as he likes to call him. Tucker should have more class and stop punching down. Lemon knows he messed up big time, and like Chris Cuomo before him, he most assuredly DOES care, desperately. I know you WANT him to be fine — you must be a big fan — but when a friend told me he’d been bounced from CNN and I double-checked it, I started finding out how very unliked he is at CNN. Sources are saying he’s got a monstrous ego that has needed stroking since they bounced him from his primetime show to the morning show. Apparently he laid into one of his co-workers for stepping on his line, and had her in tears. People are getting to the point where they don’t want to be around his Highness.
I know you want to think he’s all-powerful or something, but black gay guys are a dime a dozen in on-air talent. If he isn’t also at least smart enough to know he shouldn’t make cracks on or off the air about women “in their prime” — but on air is a million times worse — then he can make way for a SMART, black, gay guy. CNN won’t have any trouble making that hire.
