Do they mean he was turned down for "Black Panther", or "Black Panther 2", which they're still trying to make?
Because if he was turned down for "BP", then maybe he was on the short list, and they'll want to have another look at the guys who they came close to casting. Because yes, I think they should recast the role, because there's no way in hell they'll make the legendary Angela Bassett into the next Panther, and Princess Shuri doesn't seem like someone who can carry a film on her own. But if Clarke wanted to write the script as well as act then he might be too much of a pain in the ass, the first film had a terrific script and they don't need an actor who would want to would try to rewrite something that's already good.
I think "turned down" in the new normal for ol' Mickey.

But yeah, if they're recasting the role, they probably will start with the guys who were closest to getting the role the last time.
What I'm saying is, with all the accusations levied against Noel, I doubt if he'll be getting roles in anything.
