When most people say "ironic", what they really mean is coincidental, or unusual. They have no idea what ironic means, so the song works for them.

This is true. I've heard people describe running into a friend at a restaurant as ironic, things like that.

Her new music indeed gets little attention. But she is probably set for life based on the amount of sales from Jagged Little Pill, which is like the 5th best selling album in history

I saw her perform in 2024, at the Ball Arena in Denver. She drew a nice-sized crowd for an arena. most of the songs that she did came from Jagged Little Pill: so she has no problem leaning into being a nostalgia act, and people are still willing to pay for it
