Holy cow, not your normal aging process

I ran across her pic from another random movie and I thought this was some sort of movie makeup. But nope, that's how she really looks.

Of her old films I've only seen They Live. But I have seen her Rob Zombie flicks (The Lords of Salem & 31), and yeah in 31 she was rough looking. Very large masculine features with crystal blue eyes and heavily weathered skin. All together it gives her a bit of a freaky appearance. If memory serves me well she also had the voice of a heavy smoker in 31.

To be fair she's 73 now, but it's not the fact she's old looking, many people her age look older. It's the masculine features that really do her in, she always did have a boxy masculine face but the aged skin and loss of facial fat have made it much worse.

Fair play to her for not succumbing to botox and plastic surgery.
Those eyes are still beautiful

reply

I think her eyes are fantastic. Some people think they're creepy, but I find them very pleasant.

I agree that there's too much botox and plastic these days, but there's something about Meg that's outside of the normal aging process. Amphetamines maybe?

There are eyes, and then there are eyeballs. Let me explain: when looking at a woman's eyes as part of her face and look, a woman's eyes are part the visible iris and part of the shape of her eyes and eyebrows.

Meg has "hard" eyes, and a darker blue or brown would suit her face better in my opinion. Hey eyeball color is fantastic but clashes with her face/eyes.

reply

This is well said. I love the look of her "eyeballs" and when she was younger it fit well. Now it seems, not so much.

reply

She genuinely looks like an old leather purse, but her eyes don't help. They draw attention to it.

reply

Yep. It's the stark contrast at work here.

reply

On the contrary, her aging process is quite natural. It's all those 70+ Hollywood actresses who botox and lift their faces into a plastic mask that is unnatural. That's just what a 70+ woman who ages without any artificial assistance looks like. Looks like she doesn't even really bother with makeup, either.

reply

I'm not saying in comparison to plastic surgery or botox, but in comparison to a natural aging process. 70+ or not, there's something amiss.

reply

She looks the way I remember 70+ year old women looking when I was a kid in the 1970s. People looked older then.

This may sound weird, but I think if her hair was white or grey, she would actually look softer, if not younger. The dark auburn hair is jarring with the wrinkles

reply

You're probably right. And those eyes - stunning when she was younger, but so youthful contrasting with her skin, much like her hair that you've pointed out.

reply

Yes, her eyes did kind of work against her as far as aging goes. The contrasts, as you point out, are what really age her.

I remember when I was in middle school and I saw her with those eyes in "Guyana Tragedy" for a while I thought she was the most attractive women I had ever seen.

Completely agree. I've always said that dyed-dark hair does not go with an older face -- for women or men. They look like a corpse.

I don't know who they think they're fooling. There are women with gray or silver hair who are striking. Hair color is irrelevant.

reply

I believe the term most often used is "aging gracefully." It seems the more is done to counter the aging process, the more unnatural the look becomes.

You are right that there are very attractive women with gray or silver hair.

reply

Not true. This has nothing to do with not taking any Botox. There are PLENTY of people that don't look this bad. No makeup because it won't stick to that face.

reply

I don't know how much botox would help anyway. Those creases run deep.

reply

I recently watch Jeepers Creepers 3. I couldn't believe it was her. Especially when you consider how incredible she looked. Her eyes would make Medusa jealous.

I never thought she was given enough credit for that beautiful face. Now she looks like someone who's been on meth for about 30yrs.

reply

Her eyes would make Medusa jealous.

Did she ever play Medusa? She should have.

reply

Clearly a smoker. Pay attention, ladies.

reply

And pay attention guys! As Lois Griffin says: "if they smoke, they poke"

reply

Lol!

reply

Yep, if you look at old photos of her when she was younger she often had a cigarette with her. That smoking pretty much guarantees you skin will look like shit when you get older. The other problem she has is she dyes her hair too dark. It highlights the older looking skin when you dry your hair what is an unnatural color for your age. Not saying she had to go full on gray, but even a lighter color with no gray would have lessened the impact of her skin. Though full on gray would probably be her best bet because these wig like color she has just highlights her bad skin.

reply

Pretty much what all old people in Arizona look like.

reply

A lot of that in South Florida, too.

reply

She's 73 so she looks about right. A lot of fifty-year-old ladies look worse without make-up. She's just confident enough to face the cameras without make-up.
